Wedding Flowers - How important are they?

Getting married is without doubt one of the happiest days of your life. It is a day when you gather those you love around you and officially welcome your partner into your family. Nothing could surpass the love felt between two people on their wedding day, but choosing the right accessories can certainly enhance the occasion. Wedding flowers are just one of the items which make a wedding day extra special.

Floral arrangements, such as those traditionally placed at either side of the altar, look stunning in photographs. From the grand displays at a lavish ceremony, to the tiny posies carried by the youngest of bridesmaids, wedding flowers enhance the unique feeling of the occasion in a way that no other form of decoration could. A well structured floral arrangement can be breathtakingly beautiful and will receive appreciative comments from young and old alike.

Flowers are an excellent way to inject color into a ceremony where traditionally the groom wears black and the bride white. Coordinating the bridal bouquet with the bridesmaids dresses, and the button holes of the groomsmen, can help to bring together the wedding party as a cohesive group.

If you are on a budget, there are many ways in which you can reduce the costs of your wedding flowers. If you are planning your ceremony well in advance, consider enlisting a friend or relative to grow the flowers for you. Wedding staples such as carnations and ferns are relatively inexpensive to grow, and they look fabulous in button holes and bouquets.

If you do find that you need to buy your wedding flowers, find out which flowers are in season in the month you marry. Choose daffodils in March, roses in June and poinsettias in December. Buying flowers which are in season significantly reduces the cost.

Take care when choosing the design of your arrangements, if you are having a church wedding, arrange the flowers in tiny buckets or baskets which are tied to the pews with ribbon. At the end of the ceremony simply ask the ushers to collect the baskets and transfer them to the reception for use as table decorations. If you have more pews than you have tables at the reception, simply offset every other row with a pretty ribbon bow. The beauty of doing this is that you can also use the flowers as a backdrop for your photos. You can even give them to your guests to take away as a reminder of your special day.

And the most important wedding flowers of all? The bridal bouquet. Thrown to the single ladies in the wedding party as the newlyweds depart for their honeymoon, tradition dictates that the bridal bouquet will select the next young lady to be married. It is often a source of great merriment and is the perfect way to bring the day to a close.

Top trending Wedding Hair Vines This Year
Top trending Wedding Hair Vines This Year

July 30, 2021

Wedding hair vines are very on trend this year, but if you are asking yourself “What’s a wedding hair vine?”, let us explain. Wedding hair vines are long, flexible head pieces made on thin twisted wire that can be shaped to any design required to suit your hairstyle. Wedding hair vines generally don’t have any combs attached to them and can easily be pinned into your hair wherever needed. This gives them the flexibility to be worn with many different hairstyles.
So, how should you wear your wedding hair vine...
First, decide on how you will be wearing your hair; will you be wearing your hair down, in a long loose braid? Hair vines also look fantastic in half up half down hairstyles. Simply secure into the section of your hair that is pinned up, and then gentle curve down through your loose waves. If you are wearing your hair in a loose plait, the hair vine can simply be plaited into your hair as it is done.
As we mentioned hair vines are a very big trend for this year and here are our top selling wedding hair vines so far...
