Real Weddings 2019 - Niamh & Aodhán
The bride and groom met through their shared love of Irish music and dance, both being from Cavan but never crossed paths until they both preformed at another wedding on the same night. Aodhán proposed on a cliff they were looking out at the sea, Niamh turned around to find Aodhán on bended knee with the most beautiful ring he’d designed himself!
According to this lovely couple the Sparks flew immediately and they were both smitten. There were many personal touches on the day including a three-year restoration of Aodhán's grandfather’s Massey Ferguson tractor to travel to the ceremony on, Niamh's dad built a stone arch, Aodhán handmade cufflinks from lucky truppences for his groomsmen, Niamh's friend designed the wedding invitations and her sister painted the mass booklets.
Aodhán's sister made this glorious wedding cake! The detailing on the wedding dress is so intricate and beautifully detailed. Aren't Niamh's bridesmaid's stunning?! The couple say the the music was the priority of their wedding “A trad session with friends ‘Whiskey You’re The Devil’ ensued to welcome guests as they arrived and the bridal party entered the dining room with a New Orleans Wedding March led by approximately fifteen of our wedding party with a mash up of ‘You Are My Sunshine’ and ‘This Little Light of Mine’on drums, brass and other percussion instruments. Just amazing!
Two days after the wedding the couple went on honeymoon, “We flew to Dubai to stay at The Atlantis for three nights, then onto Ubud in Bali for treks, relaxation and water-rafting, onto the Gili Islands for some incredible sunsets and scuba diving before finishing on a high back in Bali at the Four Seasons, Jimbaran Bay.”
